Why chocolate cake doesn’t work for Blueberries and Berries recipe

Ingredients 2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder, plus more for dusting 1/2 cup light cornstarch 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened 3 tablespoons sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 1/4 cup unsweeten instant espresso powder 2 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons baking powder 2 cups chocolate chips, plus 1/3 cup more for brushing Directions For the cake: In a large bowl, combine cocoa powder and cornstech until well blended.

Add the butter, sugar and coffee.

Whisk until smooth.

Add flour, salt and baking powder.

With a mixer on medium speed, beat in espresso powder.

Beat in milk and vanilla.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Fold in chocolate chips.

Pour batter into a 9×13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool on a rack before frosting.
